Cookie Policy
What cookies and similar technologies Makr3D uses for authentication, security, preferences, OAuth, payments and privacy-friendly analytics.
Last updated
1. Scope
This Cookie Policy explains the cookies and similar technologies expected for Makr3D at launch. It should be checked against the live deployment, Clerk configuration, Stripe configuration, analytics configuration and any tag manager or marketing scripts as the service evolves.
2. What cookies are
Cookies are small files placed on a device. Similar technologies include local storage, session storage, pixels, scripts and identifiers used by browsers, payment providers, authentication providers or analytics tools. They can be first-party, set by Makr3D, or third-party, set by a provider such as Clerk or Stripe.
3. Launch cookie categories
| Category | Purpose | Examples | Consent position |
|---|---|---|---|
| Strictly necessary | Authentication, sessions, account access, CSRF protection, security and route protection. | Clerk session and authentication cookies, security tokens, request-protection identifiers. | Needed to provide the service. Usually no opt-in consent required under UK PECR. |
| Seller preferences | Remembering dashboard UI choices and reducing repeated setup friction. | Sidebar open/closed state and similar interface preferences. | Treated as service preference storage. Can be cleared in the browser. |
| OAuth and integrations | Completing secure third-party connection flows. | Etsy OAuth state and PKCE verifier stored temporarily in an httpOnly cookie. | Needed to complete the seller-requested integration connection. |
| Payments and fraud prevention | Payment setup, card storage, checkout, fraud prevention, dispute handling and payment security. | Stripe cookies or identifiers during Stripe-hosted or Stripe-powered payment flows. | Needed for payment and fraud-prevention services. Stripe's own terms may also apply. |
| Analytics | Aggregate site and product usage measurement. | Plausible analytics script and aggregate events. | Configured as privacy-friendly analytics. No advertising cookies intended at launch. |
| Error monitoring | Finding and fixing production errors, crashes and performance issues. | Sentry event identifiers, logs or similar diagnostics depending on runtime configuration. | Used for service security and reliability. |
4. Advertising and marketing cookies
Makr3D does not intend to use behavioural advertising cookies, retargeting pixels or cross-site advertising trackers at launch. If that changes, we will update this policy and add any consent controls required by UK PECR, UK GDPR or local laws that apply.
5. Third-party providers
Some cookies or similar technologies are provided by third-party services we use to run Makr3D, including Clerk, Stripe, Etsy during authorised connections, Plausible and Sentry. These providers may process data under their own terms for security, fraud prevention, payment compliance or service delivery. The Subprocessor List explains the main providers.
6. Managing cookies
You can control cookies through your browser settings. Blocking strictly necessary cookies may stop sign-in, checkout, dashboard access, OAuth connections or security controls from working. If we add optional cookie categories that need consent, Makr3D will provide a product-level control.
7. Changes
We may update this policy when providers, scripts, analytics, payment flows or consent requirements change.
