Layer 01Pricing

Pay for fulfilment, not for software.

There is no monthly fee. You pay a per-product fulfilment charge plus shipping, and Makr3D’s margin is built into the fulfilment price. No subscription, no listing fees, and our fulfilment is genuinely competitive worldwide, priced to protect your margin rather than to charge you for software. Optional paid plans are on the way, but Free stays fully functional.

All prices are shown ex-VAT. Makr3D is operated by Yorkshire3D Ltd, which is VAT-registered, so VAT-registered sellers reclaim the VAT on fulfilment and shipping.

No monthly fee

Free stays the default and stays fully functional. You are billed only when you have orders to fulfil. Optional paid plans are on the way to add extra tools, but they never replace the core quote maths.

Per-product fulfilment

Each product is quoted from its file: material, filament weight, print time, colours and nozzle. A £1 minimum fulfilment charge applies per dropship order before postage.

Shipping from rate tables

Postage is charged from Makr3D’s carrier rate tables by weight and destination. Royal Mail is the default; FedEx and DHL cover express and large international.

Layer 02Optional plans

Free is fully functional. Paid plans are on the way.

Makr3D is transaction-first, and Free gives you the full quote, order and fulfilment flow with no monthly commitment. Optional paid plans are being finalised: when they land they add entitlements and limits on top of the same fulfilment engine, never a different price for the core quote maths.

Layer 03How billing works

You collect from your customer. Makr3D bills you.

  • You keep your own checkout. Buyers pay you on Etsy, Shopify, eBay, Amazon or your own store. There is no marketplace or seller-of-record in the middle.

  • Makr3D charges your saved card when an order imports. Production starts once payment succeeds. Your margin is the gap between what you charge and Makr3D’s fulfilment + shipping.

  • Every charge is a VAT-compliant invoice. Your dashboard shows ex-VAT prominently, with VAT and inc-VAT where it helps.

Layer 04What sellers charge

Illustrative retail ranges

These ranges are what sellers in each category typically charge their own customers, drawn from public marketplace data. They are illustrative and are not a Makr3D rate card. Your fulfilment cost is quoted from your actual file; use the calculator below to model your margin, or read the 3D-print fulfilment cost guide for what drives it.

Layer 05Bulk pricing

Automatic bulk tiers from launch

Per-unit fulfilment drops as quantity rises. Bulk tiers apply automatically in your quote and dashboard at these break points:

  • 10 units
  • 25 units
  • 50 units
  • 100 units
  • 250 units
  • 500+ units

The exact discount at each tier depends on the product and material, so it is shown in your live quote rather than published as a flat percentage. Bulk orders respect stock-aware lead times, and pair well with bulk self-fulfilment for international sellers who would rather import a batch and ship locally.

Layer 06Example live prices

Real fulfilment prices at today’s rates

A few worked examples of per-product fulfilment, priced from the file at Makr3D’s current rates. These are examples generated at current rates; your quote is instant and exact, priced from your actual model, colours and destination. Figures are per unit and exclude postage.

Fidget-class toyPalm-size articulated PLA print£2.50£3.00

Illustrative examples, not a rate card. Dispatch is typically 1–2 working days and is an estimate, not a guaranteed date. VAT is shown at 20%; VAT-registered sellers reclaim it.

Layer 07Margin calculator

Model your margin before you list

Enter your retail price, an estimated fulfilment cost, shipping and quantity to see your contribution margin. Everything runs in your browser; nothing is sent to Makr3D. Illustrative default

A rough allowance for electricity and printer wear per hour. Set your own figure, or leave the illustrative default.

The Makr3D side has fewer inputs on purpose: material, machine time, failures, packaging and posting are all folded into the one fulfilment price Makr3D quotes from your file. Those are the jobs it takes off your plate.

The cash difference

At your retail, printing it yourself leaves £0.13 more contribution per order than Makr3D. Weigh that against the hours below.

How this is calculated

Both sides use the same retail, quantity and marketplace fee, so the only thing that moves is the delivered cash cost. In-house cost per unit is (material + machine time) grossed up for failures, plus packaging; postage is added once per order. Makr3D cost per unit is your fulfilment figure, with shipping added once per order. Contribution is revenue minus the marketplace fee minus that delivered cost; margin is contribution as a share of revenue.

Failures gross up material and machine time only (a reprint wastes the plastic and the printer hours, not the box or the stamp). The machine-cost-per-hour default is illustrative; enter your own to model electricity and wear accurately.

All figures are ex-VAT, matching how Makr3D shows prices. Makr3D is VAT-registered (Yorkshire3D Ltd), so VAT-registered sellers reclaim the VAT on both sides. If you are not VAT-registered, add 20% to model your real outlay.

These are illustrative figures you enter yourself. This is a comparison, not a savings claim: either side can come out cheaper. Makr3D does not publish a fixed rate card; your real quote depends on the file, material, colours and destination.

Hours you get back

The cash comparison above is only half the picture. Handing production, checking, packing and posting to Makr3D returns your time. We show that as hours, and deliberately do not price it: what an hour is worth to you is yours to decide.

Printing, checking, packing and posting. Shown back to you as time, never converted to money.

That is about 312 hours a year back for designing, marketing and selling instead. No hourly rate is applied.
