Getting started
The path from a model file to a shipped order, using the same words you will see in the dashboard.
1. Create your account
Sign up with an email address. There is no monthly fee at launch and no approval queue: your account is active straight away, and you only pay when you place an order. The safety check happens later, on each order, before anything is printed.
2. Upload your first Part
In the dashboard, open Parts and choose New part. A Part is one model file printed on one plate. You can upload STL, 3MF, STEP, STP, OBJ, or a ZIP containing one of those. If your 3MF was exported from Bambu Studio or OrcaSlicer with your own plates, supports and settings, we honour them: that is Faithful 3MF Mode, and it is the default.
As soon as the file lands, our slicer prices it automatically. You see the fulfilment price (what production costs you) before you decide anything else, so you can set a retail price with your margin in front of you. Some files are priced by the team instead of the slicer (multi-colour prints, for example); Uploads & quoting explains exactly which ones and why.
3. Save a Print option
A Print option is the saved production configuration for a Part: material, nozzle, settings and the resulting price. Save the configuration you want reused and every order against that Part prints the same way. You can clone it, revisit its history, and pick the colour per order.
4. Order a test print
Before you sell anything, order a sample of your own Part. It goes through the identical production path as a customer order, printed on the same farm, QA-checked by the same team, and shipped to you with tracking. It is the cheapest insurance you can buy on a new product.
5. Build Products
A Product is what a buyer purchases: one or more Parts sold together, with its own name, photos and price. A single-Part Product is fine; multi-Part Products cover kits and assemblies.
6. Sell it
There are three ways to route orders to the print farm:
- Your shop. Open a storefront on your own makr3d.app subdomain from My Shop in the dashboard and sell directly. Your shop covers it end to end.
- Your existing channels. Sell on Etsy, Shopify or anywhere else, then bring the orders in: connect Etsy in Settings, Connections (where available), import a CSV batch, or create orders one at a time.
- The API. Create quotes and orders programmatically and listen on signed webhooks. See API & webhooks.
7. We print, check, pack and ship
Every order is checked by the team before it is printed, then produced on the Bambu farm at our UK production hub in Huddersfield, QA-checked, packed (white-label packing slips are available) and shipped worldwide with tracking. Orders & payment walks through every status you will see along the way.
